A Florence, Kentucky-based construction firm wants to develop a property on Redsky Drive in Sycamore Township, and residents will get their first chance to weigh in at a public hearing on Thursday, Aug. 13.
Matt Suesz of Mark Spaulding Construction Company filed the application, designated Case ZC-2026-8, seeking Planned Unit Development (PUD I) approval for 7815 Redsky Dr. The property currently carries a Light Industrial zoning designation, according to a Realtor.com listing for the address.
The Sycamore Township Zoning Commission will take up the case as its sole new business item at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Township Administration Building, 8540 Kenwood Rd., according to the commission's posted agenda.
No site plan, project description or staff report for the case has been posted publicly. The agenda lists only the applicant, address and request type, leaving the proposed building use and scale unclear ahead of the hearing.
Mark Spaulding Construction Company, a Florence, Kentucky-based general contractor founded in 1995, specializes in design-build projects including educational, medical, senior living, and worship facilities, according to the company's LinkedIn profile.
Under Sycamore Township's zoning code, a PUD-1 requires approval only from the Zoning Commission, not the Board of Township Trustees. The commission must hold its public hearing within 10 to 45 days of receiving a complete application. If approved, the PUD-1 designation is valid for one year unless a building permit is issued.
The case is the eighth zoning application filed in Sycamore Township this year. Earlier 2026 cases have included a nursing school at the Kenwood Collection, a gas station redevelopment on Montgomery Road, and the ongoing Good Shepherd Lutheran Church PUD dispute at 7701 Kenwood Rd. That case, reported July 28, is headed to the Board of Trustees and goes before the trustees on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
The commission's next scheduled meeting after Aug. 13 is Thursday, Sept. 10.
