Gov. Mike DeWine asked FEMA to begin assessing storm damage in Hamilton County on Aug. 20, bypassing the usual state-first process and advancing the question of whether local flood victims in Montgomery, Blue Ash and Sycamore Township will qualify for federal disaster relief.

Seven Sycamore Township properties declared nuisances

Sycamore Township trustees unanimously declared seven properties nuisances on Aug. 11 for overgrown vegetation and debris, giving owners seven days from notice to clean up or face township-contracted removal billed to their tax accounts.

Hamilton County approves 5.61-mill children's services levy for November ballot

Hamilton County commissioners voted 2-0 Monday to place a 5.61-mill children's services levy on the Nov. 3 ballot, raising costs from $82 to $121 per $100,000 of home value and stacking a second property tax increase alongside the Sycamore schools levy for local homeowners.

Sycamore Township trustees unanimously approve 2027 tax budget

The Sycamore Township Board of Trustees voted 3-0 on Tuesday, July 7, to adopt the township's preliminary 2027 tax budget, a state-required spending plan that projects $2.995 million in General Fund expenditures and was filed with the Hamilton County Auditor the next day.
