Sycamore Township residents hit by Saturday's storms have until 8 a.m. Wednesday, August 5, to register for free curbside debris pickup, the second such emergency declaration this summer.

Strong storms struck the township on Saturday, August 1, prompting officials to activate the same emergency debris program used after the July 17–18 storms. That earlier round carried a July 22 registration deadline and an August 1 brush chipping date, both now passed. The township has now declared two storm emergencies in six weeks.

How to register

Residents must call 513-791-8447 or submit an online request form at sycamoretownship.org before the 8 a.m. Wednesday, August 5 cutoff. This is not a township-wide collection. Only households that individually register by the deadline qualify for complimentary pickup.

Residents whose debris isn't ready for the curb yet should still register by Wednesday. The township will allow up to two weeks from registration to get material curbside. Once it's ready, call 513-791-8447 again to confirm.

Prep rules

Storm debris must be placed unbagged at the curb with the cut sides of branches facing the street. Do not mix debris with leaves.

Free brush chipping day

For residents who miss the Wednesday deadline or prefer to haul their own brush, the township will hold a free chipping day on Saturday, August 29, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Township Administration Building at 8540 Kenwood Road. The same location hosted the August 1 chipping event tied to the earlier July storm emergency.
