Republican Warren Davidson won reelection in Ohio’s 8th Congressional District, Decision Desk HQ reported.
Its Nov. 3, 11:59 p.m. EST districtwide tally showed Davidson with 168,689 votes (52.14%) and Democrat Vanessa Enoch with 154,828 (47.86%), with more than 95% estimated counted. DDHQ called the race Nov. 3 at 10:31 p.m. EST. These reported totals remain unofficial and subject to certification.
Davidson has represented the 8th District since 2016, when he won the seat previously held by House Speaker John Boehner. His campaign biography describes his service as an Army infantry officer after attending West Point, followed by an MBA at Notre Dame and work in Ohio manufacturing businesses. The House Clerk lists him on the Financial Services and Foreign Affairs committees.
Enoch is a management and technology consultant who has led Cultural Impact, LLC. Her campaign biography lists a criminal-justice degree from Ohio State, an MBA from Xavier and a doctorate in public policy from Union Institute & University. She has also worked in journalism and higher education.
Enoch’s campaign emphasized household affordability, health-care and housing costs, and requiring data-center developers to pay for the infrastructure they need. Davidson’s campaign emphasized tax policy, constitutional principles and his business and military experience. These are descriptions of campaign positions, not changes enacted by the election.
The 8th District covers Butler, Darke and Preble counties and portions of Hamilton and Miami counties. This is regional coverage for Mason-Deerfield readers: Warren County, including Mason and Deerfield Township, is in the 1st District, whose winner was Greg Landsman.
