Sycamore Township's 16th Annual Car Show, postponed from its original Aug. 1 date due to forecasted weather, rolls into the Robert L. Schuler Sports Complex on Saturday, Aug. 29, with free admission, food trucks and awards for dozens of entries.
The township announced the reschedule on July 30, citing inclement weather in the forecast. The new date keeps the same location at 11532 Deerfield Road and the same schedule: car registration from 9 a.m. to noon ($15 per entry), the show open to the public from noon to 3 p.m. and an award presentation at 3:30 p.m., according to the township's event page.
The first 100 registered cars will receive free dash plaques, according to Jason Petty, Sycamore Township Parks & Public Spaces supervisor, who is the event's point of contact.
Awards include Top 40, Best Import, Best Engine, Best Paint, Best Jeep, Best of Show and Trustees' Choice, among other categories. On Air Entertainment will provide live DJ music throughout the afternoon. Food and drinks will be available from Cheesy Street Stacks & Melts and Granny's Goodies on the Go.
Door prizes are courtesy of KOI Auto Parts and DTI Professional Auto Detailing. The Tri-State Mopar Club is also listed as a sponsor on the official event poster.
At the 2024 edition, Don Budke took Best of Show with his 1963 Studebaker, while Terry Boub earned Trustees' Choice for his 1955 Chevy Belair.
