Six Sycamore Township property owners have seven days to clear overgrown vegetation or face township-hired crews and a bill on their tax assessment.
The Sycamore Township Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Tuesday, Oct. 6, to declare the properties nuisances under Resolution 2026-073. Chairman Tom Weidman, Trustee Tracy Kellums and Trustee Tracy Schwegmann each voted aye.
The six properties cited are:
- 4701 Kugler Mill Rd. — tall grass and vegetation (case CE-2026-317)
- 6510 Kugler Mill Rd. — tall grass, vegetation and a tree (CE-2026-321)
- 7300 Quailhallow Dr. — tall weeds and vegetation (CE-2026-310)
- An unnamed Kugler Mill Rd. lot, parcel 060000920049 — tall grass and vegetation (CE-2026-322)
- 4034 Tramore Dr. — tall grass and vegetation (CE-2026-323)
- 8433 Wicklow Ave. — tall weeds (CE-2026-307)
Fiscal Officer Jonathan T. Deters authenticated the resolution, and Law Director Lawrence Barbiere approved it as to form. The action falls under Ohio Revised Code Section 505.87, which governs nuisance abatement in townships.
Owners who do not comply within seven days of notice will have the township's zoning administrator hire contractors to do the work. The township then notifies the Hamilton County Auditor to add the cleanup cost, plus an administrative fee, to the property's tax bill.
One address stands out. The property at 6510 Kugler Mill Rd. is a repeat case. Trustees cited the same parcel for tall vegetation in Resolution 2026-051, passed June 16. Because both citations fall within 12 months, state law shortens the compliance window to four days instead of seven.
The Oct. 6 vote marks the township's second nuisance enforcement round in less than a month. On Sept. 15, trustees unanimously passed Resolution 2026-069 targeting seven different properties on Vinnedge Court, Wicklow Avenue, Belfast Avenue, Sycamore Road, Kugler Mill Road and Montgomery Road, according to meeting minutes.
Between the two rounds, trustees have flagged 13 properties for nuisance cleanup since mid-September. The township has passed seven nuisance abatement resolutions so far in 2026. The Oct. 6 meeting minutes have not yet been posted to the township website. Residents can check sycamoretownship.org for the next scheduled trustee meeting date.
