Blue Ash will hold its 34th annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Blue Ash Recreation Center, 4433 Cooper Road.

The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. and features a keynote address by Col. Danny R. Bubp, United States Marine Corps (ret.). Bubp graduated from the University of Cincinnati. He served in Iraq from November 2007 to December 2008 as the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force liaison officer to the governor of Al Anbar province, according to Wikipedia. He represented Ohio's 88th House District from 2005 to 2012.

The program also includes music from the Ohio Military Band, patriotic essays written and read by Edwin H. Greene Intermediate School students, a wreath-laying ceremony and recognition of the 2026 Veteran of the Year, according to the city's event announcement.

The ceremony has run every year since 1993 and has been described in city newsletters as the largest Veterans Day ceremony in Southwest Ohio.

After the formal program, a luncheon in the Recreation Center's Blue Gym will be hosted by members of the 123rd Air Control Squadron, an Ohio Air National Guard unit based at the Blue Ash Air National Guard Station since 1953. The luncheon costs $7 per person.

Nearly 300 of the squadron's airmen returned in December 2025 from a six-month deployment supporting U.S. Air Forces Central Command. Half received medals for their service, including 14 Meritorious Service Medals and 19 Air and Space Commendation Medals, the National Guard reported. One airman was nominated for a Bronze Star.

Blue Ash Mayor Jill Cole praised the unit at its Dec. 7, 2025, homecoming ceremony at the University of Cincinnati's Muntz Hall. "We are grateful for your safe return, for your service and for the character it takes to leave home and carry out a mission thousands of miles away," Cole said at the event.

The ceremony is open to the public.
