Seven Sycamore Township properties must be cleared of overgrown vegetation, refuse and debris or face township-contracted cleanup billed to their tax accounts, after trustees unanimously declared them nuisances on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Resolution 2026-059, passed on a 3-0 vote by Chairman Thomas J. Weidman, Vice Chairman Tracy Kellums and Trustee Tracy Schwegmann, gives owners at least seven days from receiving formal notice to abate the violations. If they don't comply, the Zoning Administrator can hire a contractor to do the work and bill the cost, plus administrative fees, to the property's tax bill through the Hamilton County Auditor.

The properties named are:

  • 8407 St Clair Ave (tall vegetation)
  • 6510 Kugler Mill Rd (tall vegetation)
  • 8447 Wexford Ave (tall vegetation and pool)
  • 6540 Euclid Dr (tall vegetation)
  • 11972 Stillwind Dr (tall vegetation)
  • 11965 Stillwind Dr (tall vegetation)
  • 8559 Kenwood Rd (tall vegetation)

Township inspectors photographed the properties Aug. 3–4, documenting overgrown front yards, tall grass along roadsides and bushes overtaking foundations. At 8447 Wexford Ave, photos show an overgrown backyard with a tarp-covered pool, the only property cited for a pool-related nuisance.

One address stands out for a different reason. The property at 6510 Kugler Mill Rd was previously cited for tall vegetation in Resolution 2026-051, passed June 16. Under Ohio Revised Code Section 505.87, a repeat violation by the same owner on the same land within 12 months may trigger a shorter compliance window of just four days rather than seven.

This is the township's seventh nuisance resolution of 2026. As reported July 23, trustees declared three different properties nuisances on July 21. A June 16 round also targeted seven properties, and a July 7 round targeted six.

The enforcement authority comes from ORC 505.87, which allows township trustees to declare properties nuisances when vegetation, refuse or debris poses a community concern. Township Law Director Lawrence E. Barbiere approved the resolution as to form, and Fiscal Officer Jonathan T. Deters authenticated and filed it.
