Blue Ash is gaining a corporate headquarters and roughly 200 jobs after Resilience, a biomanufacturing company, announced it will relocate from San Diego to the city's corporate corridor.

The move, announced June 18 by Resilience alongside Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine, JobsOhio, the City of Blue Ash and REDI Cincinnati, makes Blue Ash the global headquarters for the contract development and manufacturing organization, which produces complex medicines including injectable drugs.

Resilience's Blue Ash facility will span more than 450,000 square feet and handle drug product packaging, visual inspection, device assembly, labeling and cold storage warehousing, according to Blue Ash Advance.

The company already operates two facilities in the Cincinnati region totaling nearly 1 million square feet and employing close to 1,000 people across manufacturing, operations, quality and regulatory roles, according to a Business Wire release. With the headquarters relocation, Resilience's total Ohio workforce is expected to surpass 1,400.

That is a big footprint for one company.

Mayor Jill Cole called the relocation a tremendous win for Blue Ash, saying it brings high-quality jobs and continued economic momentum to the city.

Gov. DeWine, speaking July 30 in connection with a related Resilience and Eli Lilly expansion at Resilience's West Chester Township plant, called the company "an example of Ohio's emerging leadership in biomanufacturing" and said the headquarters move "further validates the state's life science workforce, infrastructure and collaborative approach to economic development."

The $750 million investment figure cited in the Blue Ash announcement is shared with that broader Resilience expansion in Ohio, which includes the West Chester facility partnership with Eli Lilly to produce KwikPen injectable devices.

The headquarters relocation marks the second major corporate investment in Blue Ash this summer. As we reported July 22, Beehive Industries announced a $70 million investment in the city with more than 200 jobs of its own.

An official ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Blue Ash site has not yet been scheduled. Blue Ash officials said a date will be announced.
