Families in Montgomery have a new reason to head to Weller Park next month: a free, drop-in play evening for children.
The Montgomery Parks and Recreation Commission is hosting Hometown Hangouts: Kids Edition on Sunday, Sept. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Weller Park, 10021 Weller Road. The event requires no registration and no fee. All children must be accompanied by a supervising adult, according to the city's event listing.
The commission describes the evening as a chance for socializing and free play, though specific activities or equipment have not been announced.
Why Weller Park
The park features the largest playground in Montgomery, along with tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, soccer fields, baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, a batting cage and a paved walking and biking loop that connects to surrounding neighborhoods.
The city has not said whether Hometown Hangouts: Kids Edition is a one-time event or part of a recurring series.
