A 125-year-old Cincinnati industrial contractor is moving its headquarters to Blue Ash after being acquired by one of the largest infrastructure companies in the country.
Houston-based Quanta Services (NYSE: PWR), a Fortune 500 firm that reported $9.56 billion in second-quarter revenue, completed its purchase of Enerfab Holdings in July 2026, according to Quanta's Q2 earnings release. CEO Aaron Landolt confirmed the deal and the Blue Ash relocation in an interview with the Cincinnati Business Courier published Friday.
Enerfab, founded in 1901 and previously based in Spring Grove Village, employs approximately 2,100 workers and operates fabrication facilities spanning about 250,000 square feet. The company provides electrical, mechanical, fabrication, construction and maintenance services to industrial, utility, power generation and energy customers.
The deal changes what Enerfab can bid on. Landolt told the Business Courier that Quanta's "$150 billion bonding capacity" will allow Enerfab to pursue larger industrial projects it couldn't win as a private company.
The acquisition is part of a broader Quanta buying spree during the second quarter. The company paid a combined $1.24 billion for four firms, including Enerfab, Phalcon, Percheron and PSD. It did not disclose what it paid for Enerfab alone. Duke Austin, Quanta's president and CEO, said in the July 30 earnings release that the acquisitions deepen the company's self-perform capabilities across electrical, mechanical, fabrication and front-end disciplines.
The relocation of headquarters adds to a streak of corporate moves into Blue Ash this year. As we reported July 30, biomanufacturing company Resilience relocated its global headquarters from San Diego, bringing roughly 200 jobs. Beehive Industries announced a $70 million expansion in July with more than 200 jobs planned.
No specific Blue Ash address or relocation timeline has been publicly announced. Enerfab and Blue Ash economic development officials have not disclosed when the move will take effect or how many employees will work at the new location.
