An 18-year-old Blue Ash woman faces felony charges after police said she struck a pedestrian who was trying to help her while she was unconscious behind the wheel of a running vehicle.
Lily Pharo is charged with aggravated vehicular assault, operating a vehicle under the influence, and multiple traffic violations in connection with the Friday, July 3, incident on Ryan's Way in Blue Ash, according to a Blue Ash police report.
Officers responding to the scene found Pharo unconscious inside her running vehicle, the report states. A passerby had knocked on the window to wake her, then opened the driver's door and attempted to remove the keys from the ignition.
That's when police said Pharo put the vehicle into reverse, knocking the pedestrian to the ground and causing the victim to strike his head. She then allegedly drove into another parked vehicle, a tree, a mailbox, and a light pole before stopping.
Both Pharo and the male pedestrian were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The pedestrian suffered what the crash report classified as potentially serious injuries. Police have not released his identity or current condition.
Police believe Pharo was under the influence of an inhalant at the time of the incident.
The case is pending in Hamilton County Municipal Court. No next court date has been publicly listed.
