Sycamore Township residents can drop off yard brush for free chipping Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. behind the Township Administration Building at 8540 Kenwood Road.
The township announced the date on X on Monday, Sept. 28. The Oct. 3 session is part of a monthly brush chipping program the township runs through the fall.
No appointment is needed. Two more sessions follow: Saturday, Nov. 7, and Saturday, Dec. 5, both from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the same location, according to the township's Fall 2026 Quarterly newsletter.
Residents who miss a storm-damage reporting deadline can also use the free monthly chipping as an alternative to a $50 curbside brush pickup fee, the fall newsletter states.
Tom Weidman, chairman of the Sycamore Township Board of Trustees, wrote in his Aug. 31 letter in the fall newsletter that the township's crew is "gearing up for another season of our Leaf Pick-up Program." Curbside leaf collection runs Tuesday, Oct. 13, through Monday, Dec. 14, with crews working Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
