Montgomery resident Hadia Khan will lead a community forum on resources for families raising children with disabilities on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 6 p.m.
The event is part of the city's Know Your Neighbor series, a recurring program that invites speakers to address topics affecting local families. The city describes Khan as a special needs mom and disabilities advocate. She will share information on resources to help families find support and connect with services, according to the event listing.
Khan works as a community engagement specialist at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, a role she has held since June 2024, according to her LinkedIn profile. She previously served as program director at Autism Connections from 2020 to 2023 and as a resource specialist at Envision Ohio from 2013 to 2020. She completed a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) graduate program at Cincinnati Children's in 2016.
The Association of University Centers on Disabilities lists Khan as an Ohio Parent to Parent Engagement specialist affiliated with the University of Cincinnati Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCCEDD). The center describes her work as providing family support for networking, lifespan resources, and special education advocacy.
The Know Your Neighbor series has previously addressed topics including LGBTQ inclusion. A June 2023 installment, "Welcoming our LGBTQ Neighbors," featured Cincinnati attorney Scott Knox at Montgomery City Hall.
