Select reverse-commute trips on Metro's Route 3X Montgomery Express will be rerouted to serve Pfeiffer Road starting Sunday, Oct. 4.
The change affects some downtown-to-suburbs trips on the express bus line that connects Government Square in downtown Cincinnati to the Meijer Park & Ride on Montgomery Road near Symmes Township. Some trips that previously bypassed or took a different path to the Pfeiffer Road area will now run through the Montgomery Road and Pfeiffer Road intersection, which is listed as a stop in both directions.
Metro announced the adjustment Wednesday, Sept. 30, giving riders four days' notice. Brad Mason, Metro's director of communications, described the change as part of a round of "minor" schedule adjustments across six routes.
The Route 3X runs express service Monday through Friday between Kenwood, Blue Ash, Montgomery and downtown Cincinnati. Popular destinations along the line include Bethesda North Hospital, Jewish Hospital, Kenwood Towne Centre, Sycamore Plaza and the Meijer Park & Ride.
The announcement does not list which departure times are affected or describe the prior routing for the rerouted trips. Metro's schedule page was updated Sept. 30 to reflect the Oct. 4 changes, and riders can download the new Route 3X timetable there.
The Oct. 4 round of changes also includes timing adjustments to Routes 10, 11, 46, 65 and 77. None of those routes directly serve Montgomery or Blue Ash. Among the other tweaks, a Route 10 trip from the Kenwood Loop will depart 10 minutes later, at 1:44 p.m. instead of 1:34 p.m.
Riders with questions can reach Metro at [email protected] or check schedules through the Transit app.
Metro listed no end date for the Route 3X change.
