The Blue Ash Police Department opens its doors to the public Tuesday, Sept. 15, for its annual open house at 4343 Cooper Road.

The free event runs from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Municipal & Safety Center. The City of Blue Ash said on X the open house gives residents a chance to meet the officers who serve the community.

The department, led by Chief Roger Pohlman, employs 36 full-time officers, five auxiliary officers, six dispatchers and three civilian support staff. It is certified by the Ohio Collaborative Community Police Advisory Board.

Past open houses have featured K-9 demonstrations, police vehicle displays, equipment demos and station tours, according to city newsletters dating to 2014.

Photos shared by the Blue Ash Police Department on X on Sept. 10 show officers with K-9 partners greeting crowds, a child sitting in a mini police car and a woman helping a child try on a police costume. The City of Blue Ash posted additional photos Sept. 15 showing an officer with a K-9 speaking to a crowd outdoors and a mother photographing her child in a military vehicle.

Blue Ash police also operate a drone program that launched in 2016. The Unmanned Aircraft Systems team has nine members, seven from the police department and two from the fire department, and has logged more than 1,000 flights. Each member holds a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration. The team flies four aircraft, including two DJI Matrice 30Ts.

The department expanded its community outreach earlier this year. In April 2026, Arise Education Services presented Blue Ash police and firefighters with four Safe Encounters Sensory Kits for interactions with autistic individuals during emergency calls. The kits include weighted blankets, fidget toys, noise-cancelling earphones, dry-erase boards and information cards. Blue Ash first responders were the first of five Hamilton County communities to receive them.
